Porcelain veneers are thin wafers of porcelain that are applied to the fronts of your teeth to give you a new smile. They mimic tooth enamel so perfectly, that it can be impossible for someone to tell that anything has been done to your teeth. And using them, your teeth can be shaped and colored however you want them.

  When porcelain veneers are done correctly, it makes it impossible to tell where the veneer ends and the tooth begins. Also notice the perfectly healthy pink of the gums. This is supreme craftsmanship. It is very important for the margin between the tooth and the veneer to be perfectly smooth, so that nothing will attract plaque and that ordinary home care can keep everything clean. Gums that are dark red and puffy are an indication that the porcelain veneers may be poorly shaped near the gums.

Porcelain veneer procedure:

Since these restorations are so thin, sometimes no tooth preparation is necessary. When it is necessary, only a small amount of enamel is shaved from the front of the tooth - maybe two-one-hundredths of an inch.

Indications for porcelain veneers. This treatment may be perfect for you if:
